【摘要】:Fiberdensityisusefulintheevaluationofnewmaterialsattheresearchanddevelopmentlevelandisoneofthematerialpropertiesnormallygiveninfiberspecifications.Fiberdensityisusedtodeterminefiberstrengthandmodulusbothofafiberbundleandanindividualfilament.Thesepropertiesarebasedonloadormodulusslopeoveraneffectivearea.Fiberdensitymaybeusedwithlinealmassofthefibertogiveanapproximationofeffectivetowarea.Towareadividedbytheaveragenumberoffilamentsinatowgivesanapproximationoftheeffectiveareaofanindividualfilament.Fiberdensityisusedasaconstituentpropertywhendeterminingreinforcementvolumeandvoidvolumebasedonreinforcementmassandlaminatedensity.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthedensityofhigh-modulusfibersandisapplicabletobothcontinuousanddiscontinuousfibers.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.3Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSection9foradditionalinformation.
