【摘要】:ThisPartofEN623describesqualitativemethodsfordeterminationofthepresenceofdefectsinadvancedmonolithictechnicalceramicsbydyepenetrationtests.Theresultsarereportedasvisualobservationsofdyepenetration.Threemethodsaredescribed.-MethodA:Afuchsinedyetest(see5.1)whichissuitableforwhiteorpalecolouredceramicproducts,performedusinganevacuationtechnique.-MethodB:Afluorescentdyetest(see5.2)whichissuitableparticularlyforthoseproductswherethepurplefuchsinehasinsufficientvisualcontrastwiththeceramic,performedusingaproprietarytestkit.-MethodC:Afuchsinedyetest(see5.3)whichisperformedbysimpleimmersioninorsprayingwithadyesolution,suitableforroutinetestingformajordefects.NOTE1.Itisimportanttonotethatthesemethodsallowonlycertaintypesofdefectstobedetected.Defectswhicharenotrevealedbythesemethods,butwhichmayinfluencepropertiesandperformanceincludecracksorporesnotconnectedtothesurface,inclusions,certaintypesofgrindingdamage,andresidualstresses.NOTE2.Interpretationofresultsmaybecomemoredifficultwithincreasingporosityofthetestpieces.NOTE3.GeneralprinciplesofdyepenetrationtestsmaybefoundinEN571-1.Atestsuitableforhigh-voltageinsulatorsusinghigh-pressuredyepenetrationiscitedinIEC672.Thistestismoresearchingforopenporositythananyoftheabovemethods.
